A Rosemary Watermelon co*cktail is so refreshing for summer! Click for this delicious and simple spiked punch recipe.
Summer is coming our way, and this year I’m feeling like celebrating! There’s a special magic in summertime.
All of the sunny days, kids splashing in the sprinklers, a slower mentality that makes space for lots of time with friends and family. I love easy meals on the barbeque accompanied by a summery, refreshing co*cktail.
And this one is really delicious!
A Delicious Watermelon co*cktail
There’s a special place in my heart for the watermelons during the summer. To me, they’re the perfect summer food.
I love that watermelon chills well and helps you stay hydrated — not to mention the fact that our kids are the most happy when you hand them a huge slice of watermelon and send them into the backyard to get messy while they eat it!
Watermelon also lends itself particularly well to co*cktails! The juice acts as a natural mixer and sweetens a drink just the right amount.
In this co*cktail, the watermelon and rosemary combination makes a beautiful botanical flavor that goes really well with vodka or gin.
So we whipped up this little punch recipe for your summer celebrations, so that we can all say cheers together! It’s a perfect, simple recipe to bring people together for a laid back warm weather gathering.
Substitutions to Try
Once you get the hang of mixing up our Rosemary Watermelon co*cktail, don’t be afraid to try some substitutions! It’s a great co*cktail to play around with and mix in new things.
Here are a few ideas to get you going:
- I recommend starting with vodka, but you could also try gin as your base liquor! It changes the feel of the Watermelon co*cktail from a party drink to something a little more refined.
- If rosemary isn’t your thing, you can leave it out completely! You could also substitute in basil or thyme.
- Try different fruits! I’m thinking summer peaches or strawberries could be delicious. You may have to add a little extra water to the blender to smooth out a more pulpy fruit.
When to Serve
Our Rosemary Watermelon co*cktail is completely lovely because it’s great to serve on so many occasions! You can dress it up or down, for laid back hangouts or more formal events like showers and even summer weddings.
