🌟 Transdisciplinary Approaches for Co-Producing Resilience Assessment 🌟On Wednesday, June 13, 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering hosted an engaging workshop focused on transdisciplinary approaches to co-producing resilience assessments. Our team welcomed 23 enthusiastic researchers, including fresh faces from WUR, who joined us for a combination workshop and lunch seminar. The seminar proved invaluable for forging new connections and fostering potential collaborations.During the workshop, inspiring pitches and presentations took centre stage. Breakout sessions explored key sub-themes: Challenges in Applying Resilience: Yirang Lim delivered an insightful presentation on the struggles encountered when applying resilience in practice.Benefits of Co-Producing Resilience: Joanne Vinke-de Kruijf highlighted evidence supporting the impact of transdisciplinary approaches on building resilience.Transdisciplinary Knowledge Co-Production Challenges: Camilo Benitez Avila shared insights into the complexities of co-producing knowledge across disciplines.From Principles to Assessment: Miranda Meuwissen showcased practical examples, demonstrating how principles evolve into indicators and metrics through co-production processes.Our plenary session on tools sparked lively discussions. Carissa Champlin’s valuable contribution stood out, alongside presentations from George van Voorn and Miranda Meuwissen, shedding light on their work at WUR.We’re excited about the potential outcomes—whether it’s a research paper or a follow-up meeting with stakeholders. 👉 Let’s pass the scientific organisational baton to the next group of passionate colleagues, with unwavering support from 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering 💪#resilience #methodology #engineering #coproduction

Please join us for the public lecture "An introduction to Auburn University and Climate-Resilient Water Infrastructure in the United States" by Prof. John C. Morris of Auburn University. 📅 Wednesday 12 June from 13.00 - 14.00 in the Horst building of the University of Twente. After a short introduction by Joanne Vinke-de Kruijf, prof. Morris will deliver a 30-minutes talk that is followed by a Q&A session. This public lecture is part of a developing collaborative partnership between Auburn University and the University of Twente focusing on climate resilient water infrastructure. Both universities are focusing on issues of infrastructure policy, resilience engineering, design, climate resilience, and community and stakeholder participation that are important to both the Netherlands and the US.     Juan Pablo Aguilar López and colleagues hosted the first General Assembly for the #MULTICLIMACT project at Delft University of Technology. 🏢 Over three days, participants engaged in fruitful discussions about advancements in flood defences, resilience strategies, fibre optic sensing, and machine learning applications. Innovative ideas were shared with the aim of safeguarding Europe’s built environment against natural and climatic hazards. 🌱 The MULTICLIMACT project is designed to revolutionize the protection of the built environment against locally relevant natural and climatic hazards.
